We are seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects across land development and public works sectors. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design and plan production
- Experience with land development and/or public works projects, including bridges, water/wastewater facilities, and miscellaneous structures
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD, and/or MIDAS
- Working knowledge of MicroStation preferred
- PMP certification, Envision certification, and/or Master’s degree is a plus
- Manage structural projects from conceptual design through final design and delivery
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment and efficiency
- Oversee construction phase services, including site visits, shop drawing reviews, and RFI responses
- Develop technical reports, proposals, and client communications
- Establish project schedules, budgets, and design approaches
- Supervise and mentor engineering and support staff
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders
Project Management
- Define project scope, tasks, and priorities
- Allocate resources based on team capacity and project needs
- Monitor schedules and ensure timely delivery
- Motivate and lead project teams
- Work effectively with other disciplines and consultants
- Interpret and integrate technical data from multiple sources
- Provide alternative solutions and adapt to design changes
- Evaluate impacts of design changes on scope, schedule, and cost
- Communicate changes clearly to stakeholders
- Understand contract terms and conditions
- Prepare scopes of work and fee estimates
- Develop and revise proposals to address client needs
- Maintain responsive and proactive communication
- Provide regular project updates and status reports
- Follow established QA/QC procedures
- Review and ensure quality of team deliverables
- Identify project challenges and develop effective solutions
- Lead technical decision-making processes
- Support project billing and revenue tracking
- Assist with accounts receivable and collections
- Provide oversight and QA/QC of structural analysis
- Guide staff in resolving complex engineering challenges
- Participate in industry events and professional organizations
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Support pursuit strategies and project opportunities
- Maintain and update professional resume and project experience
