The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, scalable learning experiences that support employee development across the organization. This role reports to the Director of Learning & Development and works as a core member of the Learning & Development team to translate technical and operational knowledge into effective training solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and leadership to design learning solutions aligned with organizational training priorities
- Independently research, design, and develop content as needed to support training initiatives
- Design and develop a variety of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, microlearning, and job aids
- Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, adult learning principles) to create engaging, effective learning experiences
- Develop assessments and evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Create multimedia learning content using modern tools, including AI-enabled platforms (e.g., HeyGen or similar), video, and interactive design tools
- Contribute as a core member of the Learning & Development team, supporting the design, development, and delivery of scalable learning solutions across the organization
- Provide guidance to subject matter experts (SMEs), presenters, and internal contributors on instructional design best practices to ensure high-quality content development
- Support training delivery as needed, including facilitating or co-facilitating sessions (virtual and in-person)
- Maintain and update existing training materials to ensure relevance and alignment with current processes and standards
- Document best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of Learning & Development processes and programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a corporate or technical environment
- Strong experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate) and multimedia development
- Experience with AI-driven content creation tools (e.g., HeyGen or similar) strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of instructional design models and adult learning principles
- Experience working with SMEs to translate complex or technical content into training
- Experience facilitating training sessions (virtual and/or in-person) preferred
- Strong writing, communication, and project management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed
- Ability to travel as needed to support Learning & Development–hosted training and events
