What You'll Do
As a manager you will provide leadership, technical direction and oversight to fabrication technicians, drafters, technical support personnel, and potentially subcontract employees. Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and safety awareness, establishing goals, and employee performance management. The Tooling & Tester Technical Support Manager will lead and manage activities for Mission Engineering in a manner that enables employee engagement. This includes leading engineering resources for problem solving and issue resolution to support the mission at Pantex. Advises management of staffing needs necessary to address both forecast and emerging workload. Frequent contact with external and internal customers is required.

- Advanced knowledge of Tooling & Tester Engineering processes and procedures
- Ability to lead difficult and complex projects
- Ability to develop executable plans
- Skills for reporting on determined corrective and improvement actions
- Knowledgeable in budgeting, staffing, and financial performance
- Ability to maintain successful interactions with equivalent-level and subordinate managers concerning matters of significance to the Company
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate through oral and written word
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 15 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
- In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 4 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents thru ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).
- OR Bachelor's degree in science.
- A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is preferred for up to four years post-graduation, confirmed by transcript at the time of offer. Beyond four years from graduation, relevant experience will supersede GPA in hiring considerations.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Master's degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Position will require the application of Conduct of Engineering principles, Nuclear Quality Assurance - 1 (NQA-1) requirements commensurate with performing work in nuclear facilities. Experience in a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
- Position requires familiarity with the applicable national consensus codes, standards, and DOE requirements/guidelines used in the technical management of building systems and infrastructure for nuclear facilities.
- Demonstrated skill in effective planning, writing, organization, communication, schedule compliance, and management of technical issues.
