About the Opportunity:
Our client, a well-established and growing plaintiff-side litigation firm in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their team. This firm is known for handling high-stakes, complex cases and offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where paralegals play a critical role in case success.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned litigation paralegal who thrives in a high-performance environment and can manage cases with minimal oversight. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on meaningful, impactful cases from intake through trial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, discovery, trial, and post-trial
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
- Track deadlines and manage case calendars
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, and court appearances
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
- Summarize depositions, medical records, and discovery responses
- Assist with trial preparation and provide on-site trial support as needed
- Ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
Qualifications:
- 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably on the plaintiff side
- Experience handling catastrophic personal injury cases strongly preferred
- Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
- Must be able to work onsite full-time in the Birmingham office
