Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join a growing financial reporting team supporting a nationally recognized financial services organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills to expand their expertise in financial reporting, earnings analysis, and corporate accounting while partnering with stakeholders across multiple business functions.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, an analytical mindset, and the ability to communicate financial results effectively. This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers, identifying business drivers, and contributing to process improvements within a dynamic reporting environment.
What You'll Do:
Coordinate quarterly financial reporting activities, including gathering, reviewing, and consolidating information from multiple business areas.
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Research accounting and reporting matters and provide recommendations to key stakeholders.
Analyze financial results against budgets, forecasts, and historical trends while identifying significant variances and business drivers.
Collaborate with business partners across Finance, Tax, Investments, Legal, and other operational groups.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification.
Public accounting experience.
Experience presenting financial results to leadership teams.
Process improvement, automation, or reporting enhancement experience.
