Staff Accountant

A diverse group of family owned businesses is looking for future Financial Leaders. The position will consist of processing daily, weekly and monthly accounting tasks, as well as implementing new processes and technology to make tasks more efficient. This position is also responsible for financial analysis of key business metrics and internal audits to ensure the consistency and integrity of the financial results.

Summary

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team at Pamal Broadcasting. Reporting directly to the Secretary Treasurer, this role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions that support our our businesses. The ideal candidate values consistency, and possesses a thirst for knowledge, a desire for continuous improvement, and an innate amount of curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Manage bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Utilize software for financial reporting and record-keeping.
• Assist in general ledger reconciliation and month-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices.
• Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master's preferred
• 1-5 Years Accounting experience
• Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on account reconciliation.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is essential.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex data.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to mentor others and contribute to team development.
