What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner position at Palo Pinto General Hospital?
Job Summary: Provides service in an expanded role as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) to individuals, families, and communities. Through the use of approved protocols, under the direction of a physician health clinic setting provides direct clinic services and quality assurance. Collaborates with physicians and local health care facilities, to provide the delivery of services available for patients needs in a timely manner. Consults with clinic physician on a monthly basis to review patient’s care according to approved nurse practitioner protocols to evaluate quality assurance in an expanded role of nurse practitioner.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required minimum education: Graduate of a Masters level program of Advanced Practice Nurse. Advanced training in the provision of primary health and medical care.
Required minimum experience: One-year experience preferred in the expanded role as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Required skills (if applicable): Demonstrated skills in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
Required license/certification: Advanced Practice Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Certification of ANCC or other acceptable accrediting agency. Certified to practice as a Family Health Practitioner. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support is required. Current DEA, DOP, NPDB, driver's license and vehicle liability insurance required.
