Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments of pediatric patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses in children, including pain management strategies.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment options.
- Perform medical documentation accurately using EPIC software.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective discharge planning.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in coding for medical services rendered to ensure proper documentation.
- Stay updated on best practices in psychopharmacology for managing mental health conditions in children.
- Assist in the emergency room (ER) as needed, providing critical care to pediatric patients.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or equivalent licensure.
- Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and coding procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and families.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for pediatric patients' needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
