Activity Director

At Palm Garden of Mattoon, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our residents with excellence and compassion. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Activity Director to join our team! As the Activity Director, you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging Activities program for our residents, providing opportunities for socialization, recreation, and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate activities programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Nursing, Therapy, and Dietary, to ensure resident-centered care and support
• Plan and execute activities that promote physical, mental, psycho-social, and spiritual well-being, including arts and crafts, exercise classes, games, and entertainment events
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities and provide support to residents
• Assess and document resident participation and satisfaction, making adjustments to the program as needed
• Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, including attendance, participation, and any issues or concerns
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Activity Director experience in a skilled nursing setting, with a strong understanding of the elder adult population is preferred but we will train the right energetic candidate
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize resident needs and preferences
