Performs essential maintenance services in County parks that support the quality of life for Palm Beach County residents and visitors by providing safe, clean, and welcoming parks and facilities. Duties are performed in accordance with quality standards and include: Interacting with park visitors; providing landscape/grounds safety checks and maintenance such as mowing, string trimming and pruning trees; maintaining landscaped areas as well as athletic fields through daily safety inspections; operating equipment that drags clay; setting bases and edging fields for baseball/softball activities; providing custodial services/restroom, pavilion and picnic area maintenance. Responsible for litter pick-up/refuse collection; provides customer service pertaining to maintenance functions and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in laboring work, providing a familiarity with refuse collection, general custodial work, or landscape/natural area/athletic field maintenance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience performing athletic field maintenance/custodial work within a park system or public facility (e.g., hospitals/schools/grocery stores),
- Experience operating a tractor with bush hog/various mower attachments, garbage packer, riding mower, pressure cleaner, or athletic field groomer,
- Valid FL Class A, B, C CDL (must specify on application).
