Summary:
The Sr. Accountant will play a crucial role in our organization's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and processes. Responsibilities and Tasks:
● Financial Reporting:
○ Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
○ Assist in the preparation of financial reports for grants, donors, and internal stakeholders.
○ Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
○ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including board-level reporting.
● Accounts Payable and Receivable:
○ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
○ Reconcile invoices, payments, and donations, and resolve any discrepancies.
○ Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding payments.
○ Manage payment approvals, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with company policies.y
● Bank Account Management:
○ Oversee bank responsibilities, including managing all company bank accounts.
○ Coordinate with banks to resolve any issues related to accounts and transactions.
● Budgeting and Forecasting:
○ Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
○ Monitor budget variances and work with department heads to ensure budget adherence.
○ Support budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis across the Global team.
○ Provide support in financial planning and analysis activities.
● Expense Reporting:
○ Prepare and present detailed expense reports to management.
○ Analyze expense reports to identify cost-saving opportunities.
● Cash Flow Management:
○ Forecast cash flow requirements to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
○ Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize financial resources.
● Compliance and Audit:
○ Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
○ Assist in preparing for annual audits, including gathering required documentation and liaising with auditors.
○ Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
○ Coordinate with external auditors for financial reviews and audits.
● General Ledger Maintenance:
○ Perform general ledger reconciliations and month-end close activities.
○ Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified.
● Financial Analysis:
○ Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making by the leadership team.
○ Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
○ Provide necessary documentation and support to facilitate the audit process.
● Other Duties:
○ Collaborate with the finance team on special projects and initiatives.
○ Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
○ Support the organization’s mission and values in all aspects of work.
○ Prepare financial reports for board meetings as requested.
● Team Support:
o Provide support to the finance team as needed, assisting with various tasks and projects.
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
● Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel. Experience with donor management systems is a plus.
● Proven experience in financial analysis, payment management, and expense reporting.
● Strong understanding of GAAP, non-profit accounting principles, and grant management.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
● High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
● Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments.
● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Additional Qualifications Desired but not Required:
· Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred or required; CMA or equivalent a plus.
· Experience with IRS Form 990 preparation and compliance; familiarity with federal and state nonprofit regulations.
· Experience developing and maintaining internal controls; ability to support or lead external audits and prepare audit schedules.
· Hands-on experience tracking restricted vs. unrestricted funds and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
· Ability to evaluate, implement, and improve accounting systems and financial processes.
· Experience mentoring junior staff or overseeing accounting functions.
· Advanced Excel Skills, Proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during the month-end and year-end close.
Compensation:
Salary range: up to $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
