Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Permanent Hire
📍 Location: Pain Solutions, Wauwatosa, WI
⏳ Duration: Permanent hire, clinic open 4 days / week
Position Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality patient care, with a primary focus on pain management. This individual will support the mission of empowering patients to improve their health, function and quality of life. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, assessments, and follow-up visits for pain management.
- Evaluate potential patient profiles for acceptance to pain management
- Develop, implement and adjust individualized treatment plans, including medication management. Prescribe, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medications for pain management interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and document patient progress.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding pain management strategies and treatment options.
- Advocate for patients and help them navigate the healthcare system.
Qualifications:
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner with an active Wisconsin license in a relevant specialty (Pain Management, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of pain management experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid and active DEA license for prescribing controlled substances- (required and non-negotiable).
- Must be eligible for In-network or order/prescribe/refer status with Wisconsin Forward Health (Clinic can assist with order/prescribe/refer application if necessary; Clinic does not bill insurance for patient visits, but must be active in Wisconsin Forward Health for prescriptions to be recognized).
- Knowledge of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management techniques.
- Must demonstrate empathy and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation and patient care planning skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record and Office 365.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Comfortable in providing care to a largely urban population of varying ethnic, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full time position, 40-50 hours/week. Onsite: 4 days a week, 7:30am-5:00 pm. Reporting and documentation may be done remotely after clinic hours.
- No call, nights, weekends or holiday.
