Position Summary

Pain Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a growing, physician-led interventional pain management practice and ambulatory surgery center (ASC).

This role is broader than traditional practice management. We are looking for a business-minded transformational leader who can identify opportunities, challenge existing ways of working, and deliver measurable improvements in growth, patient experience, productivity, efficiency, and financial performance.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will lead day-to-day operations while also helping build a more scalable, tech-enabled operating model. The successful candidate will use data, technology, automation, and process redesign to simplify workflows, improve experience, and enhance continued growth.

This role manages the business aspects of the Practice and ASC: growth, financial performance, workflow, technology, procurement, staffing, and data/key performance indicators (KPIs). This role partners closely with the ASC Director of Nursing to ensure the business and clinical sides of the ASC run as one coordinated operation.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Growth & Capacity

  • Lead the day-to-day business operations of a busy multi-provider pain management practice and ASC to drive growth and capacity.
  • Redesign provider schedules, patient flow, and operational workflows to remove friction and maximize patient access and clinic capacity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer expectations, and organizational policies.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve efficiency and support continued growth.

Transform the Patient Experience

  • Improve the experience of patients, referral partners, providers, and staff by redesigning workflows and removing friction across the patient care continuum.
  • Use patient and team feedback, along with operational data, to identify barriers and constraints and implement improvements.
  • Partner closely with physicians and the ASC Director of Nursing to align business operations with clinical care, ensuring seamless coordination of scheduling, patient flow, and the overall patient experience.
  • Proactively resolve operational issues affecting the patient or provider experience.

Build a Scalable, Tech-Enabled Operating Model

  • Use technology and automation to reduce manual work and streamline administrative and clinical support processes.
  • Manage data, dashboards, and KPIs, including, but not limited to, call performance attributes, scheduling utilization, provider productivity, referral volumes and conversion, patient satisfaction, ASC procurement and OR turnover times, to drive decisions.
  • Partner with Billing, Revenue Cycle, and Finance to improve collections and financial performance.
  • Manage Practice and ASC vendor and procurement relationships to control cost.
  • Build reproducible, scalable processes that support continued growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record of progressive operational leadership, with clear evidence of improving a business through measurable results, healthcare industry experience is not required.
  • Experience managing day-to-day operational drivers of financial performance.
  • Proven ability to improve experience, customer, patient, or team member, through redesigned workflows and reduced friction.
  • Experience using technology and automation to reduce manual work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data and KPIs to drive decision-making.
  • Track record of building staff accountability and leading meaningful, sustained organizational change.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to take a hands-on approach when needed.
