What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Director position at Pacific Talent Partners?
The Opportunity:
Pacific Talent Partners has been exclusively retained to appoint a Sales Director to lead the strategic expansion of a high-growth division within a prominent Australian manufacturer.
This is a rare leadership opportunity to own a Full P&L, transitioning a business from a legacy dealer-network model to a sophisticated Direct-to-Corporate strategy. You will be responsible for scaling the division’s market share and establishing it as the premier provider for major corporate operators and specifiers across Australia.
The Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the Sales Director will be the primary architect of growth. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and front-line business development, leading a cross-functional sales team.
The successful candidate will define the long-term growth trajectory, focusing heavily on expanding the brand footprint within the Eastern Seaboard market and ensuring the successful integration of a world-class product portfolio into Tier 1 corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a robust growth strategy to scale the business unit, delivering against a clear multi-year expansion plan.
- Commercial Growth: Lead from the front in securing Tier 1 corporate accounts across supermarkets, QSR, and large-scale hospitality groups.
- P&L Management: Full accountability for the division’s financial performance, managing sales margins and optimising the product lifecycle.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and evolve a high-performance sales team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence while ensuring the team is aligned with new business goals.
- Operational Integration: Partner with Group shared services to ensure seamless product launches and promotional execution.
- Brand Stewardship: Uphold the premium positioning of both the local group and the global partner brand within the Australian market.
Core Competencies:
- The "Personality": A tenacious, metric-driven leader with high EQ. You are a "Hunter" by nature who thrives on closing high-stakes deals while remaining analytical enough to manage a complex P&L.
- Background: 5 years of commercial leadership experience, ideally within Hospitality Equipment, Durables, or Industrial environments.
- Market Authority: You possess (or can rapidly build) a network within the Tier 1 corporate/specifier space. You understand how to influence stakeholders at the C-suite and operational levels.
