The Staff Accountant is responsible for all container activity for PMSI. This includes asset additions, monthly depreciation posting, disposals, and the management of all container sales projects. They also manage, track, create, and transfer all refurb assets. Other tasks include general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliation, assisting with inventory management as needed, and other accounting tasks as requested. You will thrive in this position if you have a strong work ethic, are an analytical thinker, have exceptional excel skills, and enjoy problem-solving. This position will require interacting with branch staff daily, so strong customer service skills are crucial. An ideal candidate appreciates working in a fast paced, high-volume environment.

Position Summary:
This position involves a multi-level career ladder, which includes Staff Accountant I, II, and III. The level at which an offer is made will be based on the current needs of the company along with the qualifications of the applicant.
The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of a Staff Accountant III. As a Staff Accountant I and Staff Accountant II, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of a Staff Accountant III. Promotion is at the discretion of the manager and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.
Major Duties:

- Container Liaison
- Be the go-to person for the Storage Container Sales Director and their team.
- Be responsible for ALL container new customer account setup (rental & purchase).
- Manage all container asset activity.
- Update asset record includes required information once the asset is received.
- Process container depreciation monthly.
- Dispose of or 'sell' containers.
- Reconcile container subledger to general ledger.
- Manage container sales projects.
- Ensure that the process for container sales is followed by all.
- Manage each container sales project from start to finish; create container quick bill invoice, verify payment has been made and cleared, notify salesperson container can be delivered, and then dispose of sold container.
- Manage the refurbs on our mobile units.
- Review monthly completed refurb sheets.
- Process journal entries as necessary.
- Track REFURB asset group spend.
- Transfer completed refurbishments from the REFURB to FLT IMP asset group.
- Process ALL 'quick bill' invoices.
- Complete the daily bank reconciliation.
- Reconcile multiple general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with analysis of inventory discrepancies as requested.
- Assist with journal entries as requested.
- Assist with research / analysis projects as requested.
