Role Description
This position is a member of the safety and environmental compliance group at Pacific Manufacturing Ohio, Inc., a tier one Japanese automotive supplier for such companies as Toyota, Mazda, Subaru and Honda since 1988. Our principal components are stamped, molded and air pressure monitoring products. We have extensive press, welding, molding and degreasing production tooling and operate two primary production shifts in five buildings. We are based in Fairfield, Ohio and employ just under 950 employees.
Scheduled and Compensation
Monday to Friday - Flexible Schedule
Core hours 7:30am to 4:15pm
- Pay: Ranges from $65-75k per year.
Principal job responsibilities:
· Leads the implementation and subsequent administration of the ISO 45001 2018 standard.
· Reviews current occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs. Recommends needed changes and participates in the writing and communication of needed revisions.
· Assists Engineering staff to ensure production tooling safety measures are installed, maintained and are in proper condition as per state and federal regulations.
· Conducts inspections, audits and analysis in areas related to safety and occupational health. Maintains records of findings and prepares reports that summarize the information and suggest possible areas of improvement.
· Assists Safety Specialist to respond to various emergencies in the area of safety and occupational health, coordinates rescue or abatement activities as dictated by the situation.
· Conducts plant/field visits to ensure effective systems are maintained for the identification, assessment and control of all significant hazards. Carries out examinations of machinery, housekeeping and employee tasks. Takes measurements of ambient air quality, noise and heat levels. Recommends methods to eliminate any undesirable discoveries.
· Assists Safety Specialists to oversee programs that affect employee safety and health such as: medical surveillance, hearing conservation, air monitoring.
· Prepares, conducts and/or facilitates required training classes for management and employees.
· Ensures all safety related incidents, including injury, first aid and near misses are reported, investigated, that a root cause is determined and effective action is taken to prevent the incident from reoccurring.
Qualifications:
· Minimum three years of experience in health, and safety roles within manufacturing.
· Strong background in electrical safety, machine guarding, ergonomics, and employee training.
· Experience to administer and maintain the ISO 45001 2018 standard.
· Proven success in implementing safety programs and improving compliance.
· Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health, and safety management or a related field is required.
