What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Pacific International Executive Search?
Pacific International has been exclusively retained by a leading North American manufacturer operating within the automotive industry. The organization supports high-volume, highly automated manufacturing operations and supplies critical components into demanding customer environments where quality, consistency, and execution are non-negotiable.
As production volumes and operational complexity continue to increase, the company is seeking a Quality Manager to lead all site-level quality activities. This role owns quality performance across incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and outgoing finished product, while serving as a key member of the plant leadership team. The Quality Manager will play a central role in strengthening quality systems, driving defect reduction, and ensuring alignment with customer and industry standards typical of automotive manufacturing.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a quality professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, equipment-driven plant environment and who wants full accountability for quality outcomes at the site level.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage all site-level quality activities within a high-volume, automated automotive manufacturing facility.
- Own quality performance across incoming inspection, in-process controls, and outgoing product to ensure customer, regulatory, and industry requirements are consistently met.
- Manage and develop a multi-layered quality organization including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and inspectors across multiple shifts.
- Own and maintain the site Quality Management System, including document control, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with automotive quality expectations.
- Establish, track, and improve key quality KPIs, defect trends, scrap, and rework metrics.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts using structured automotive problem-solving methodologies such as RCCA, PFMEA, SPC, and A3.
- Partner closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and logistics to support stable production, rapid issue resolution, and launch readiness.
- Serve as the primary quality interface for customer quality issues, audits, and performance reviews.
- Drive a culture of accountability, standard work, and data-driven decision making across the plant.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO-based quality standards and customer-specific requirements.
- This is a fully onsite role. No remote or hybrid flexibility.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7 plus years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience leading plant-level quality in high-volume, automated manufacturing, ideally within automotive, Tier 1, or Tier 2 supplier environments.
- Proven people leadership experience managing supervisors, engineers, and frontline quality teams.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO-based quality systems, audits, and customer-driven quality requirements.
- Experience owning quality KPIs and driving measurable improvement in defect rates, scrap, and customer performance.
- Ability to influence cross-functional leaders and hold teams accountable in a fast-paced production environment.
- Comfortable making decisions under pressure and operating with a high degree of ownership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with plant leadership and customer representatives.
