Position Overview
The Procedures Writer III is responsible for developing, reviewing, and revising maintenance and fleet procedures that support nuclear facility operations. This role works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and maintenance teams to ensure procedures are technically accurate, operationally effective, and compliant with all regulatory and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, experience within a regulated environment, and a solid background in nuclear operations or maintenance disciplines.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and revise maintenance and fleet procedures supporting nuclear facility operations
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure technical accuracy and completeness of procedures
- Ensure all procedures comply with applicable regulatory, safety, operational, and quality requirements
- Support maintenance activities across Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) disciplines
- Review existing documentation and update procedures as operational requirements evolve
- Maintain documentation in accordance with nuclear industry standards and established processes
- Interpret technical information and convert it into clear, concise, and user-friendly procedural documentation
- Participate in procedure reviews, audits, and validation activities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve documentation issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procedure development and maintenance operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working in nuclear facility operations
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control (I&C) maintenance disciplines
- Experience developing operational and safety procedures
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with SMEs and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of procedure writing experience in a nuclear or highly regulated environment
- Experience supporting nuclear maintenance programs
- Familiarity with fleet procedures and nuclear operational processes
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards within the nuclear industry
