Position Overview
The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for obtaining, verifying, and maintaining accurate patient information to support registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and authorization activities. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients and families, ensuring a positive customer experience while supporting operational efficiency and compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, healthcare knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform patient registration and scheduling activities for inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage information.
- Obtain required authorizations and referrals for healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information within designated systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation and data entry.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and internal departments.
- Assist in resolving registration, scheduling, and insurance-related issues.
- Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
- Utilize Epic and other healthcare systems to support patient access operations.
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Support departmental goals and perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience OR 1 year of experience within a healthcare department or call center environment.
