POSITION SUMMARY:

The Headmaster of PACE High School serves as the instructional, cultural, and operational leader of the campus. This role ensures high levels of student achievement, personalized learning, and innovative school design. The Headmaster oversees all school functions including academics, personnel, safety, community engagement, and strategic planning, while modeling collaborative leadership, high expectations, and a commitment to student-centered learning.
Up to 50% of the school day may be dedicated to teaching, advising, and directly supporting students, modeling best instructional practices and maintaining strong relationships with learners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Arizona Principal Certificate
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of effective teaching experience and demonstrated school leadershipexperience.
- Experience with blended, online, or personalized learning environments.
- Knowledge of secondary curriculum, assessment systems, and instructional best practices.
- Strong skills in communication, data-driven decision making, supervision, and crisismanagement.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and maintain a culturally responsive environment.
- Experience in use of Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems to increase student achievement
- Supports Personalized Learning, Mastery-based Learning, and Blended Learning
- Communication skills to develop a productive educational experience for both teachers and students
- Problem solving skills to enhance teacher performance and improve student grades
- Previous experience as a principal or in a similar role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructional Leadership
- Lead implementation of personalized, mastery-based, online, and project-based learning.
- Co-plan, co-teach, and model high-quality instruction for staff; provide ongoing coaching andfeedback.
- Use data to guide instructional decisions, academic interventions, and schoolwideimprovement.
- Ensure that assessment practices—including formative and authentic assessments—accurately measure student learning.
- Maintain a learning environment that promotes student voice, engagement, independence, and belonging.
Student Support:
- Provide direct instruction, academic advising, and relational support to students for up to half of each school day.
- Support student progress toward graduation and facilitate individualized learning pathways.
- Help address social, emotional, and behavioral needs through collaborative systems and proactive communication with families.
School Operations & Management:
- Oversee daily school operations, including master scheduling, facilities, and campus safety.
- Manage budgets, resources, and school logistics efficiently and transparently.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and Arizona state regulations.
- Oversee extracurricular programs, school events, and community outreach.
- Manage student discipline using equitable, restorative approaches.
Staff Supervision & Professional Culture:
- Select, supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff with a strength-based leadership approach.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing professional culture.
- Facilitate regular PLCs, team meetings, and professional development aligned to school goals.
- Promote innovation, shared ownership, and strong communication among team members.
Family & Community Engagement:
- Maintain ongoing, effective communication with families to support student success.
- Build partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and industry leaders to expand learning opportunities.
- Represent PACE at district meetings, community events, and public forums.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisionsrelated to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.
- Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel,
- mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
- Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to
- assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 12-month contract; salary based on district administrative salary schedule.
- Eligible for district administrative benefits.
- Must hold U.S. work authorization and Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
- Proof of Mumps, Measles and Rubella, (MMR) vaccination.
- Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
- Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications, official transcripts will be due upon job offer
