POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Y Academy staff at Ozarks Regional YMCA ensures that childcare programs meet community needs including supervising children, implementing existing program activities, and meeting its intended goals. The position involves actively engaging with children, teaching, creating and openly communicating. The Ozarks Regional YMCA strictly follows a zero-tolerance policy regarding child abuse & misconduct.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement & belonging.
- Utilizes sound judgement and discretionary skills in accordance with policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service to participants and their parents/guardians, and families.
- Implements curriculum & age-appropriate programming within established guidelines.
- Maintains an environment that ensures children are safe.
- Always follows YMCA policies and guidelines.
- Completes required initial & annual trainings, maintain OPEN account.
- Completes and submits all paperwork on time.
- Establishes mutual respect & positive relationship with coworkers, supervisors, and school staff.
- Demonstrates good character and serves as a role model for youth.
- Maintains all daily attendance, meal counts, and other documents as required.
- Follow general direction and perform other duties as assigned by directors.
- Participate in special events & School Days Out as determined in staff handbook.
- Wear Y identifiable staff uniform & name badge.
- Other duties as assigned.
