What are the responsibilities and job description for the Color Matcher MFG - Cosmetics position at Oxygen Development?
MISSION
- To conduct quality control testing and ensure accurate color matching for all batches in bulk manufacturing according to defined specifications.
- To provide timely and precise adjustment instructions to manufacturing to meet customer quality standards.
- To comply with GMP, FDA, and customer requirements while documenting all results and adjustments in accordance with regulatory standards.
SCOPE
- All liquid and powder pigment formulations & finished goods produced by Oxygen Development.
- Documentation associated with reporting results for color matching and adjustments, including batch records and COAs.
- Supporting production teams in quality education and adherence to manufacturing processes.
FUNCTIONS
- Attend daily manufacturing wall meetings and collaborate with teams on the status of evaluations or adjustments.
- Conduct quality control testing, including color, odor, texture, appearance, color spot, viscosity, specific gravity, break test, refractive index, pH, powder testing (fill height, drop test etc) and moisture content, ensuring all batches meet specifications.
- Calculate and provide adjustment instructions to manufacturing according to defined lead times and quality standards.
- Perform and follow the gazebo process when adjustment limits have been reached, collaborating with other departments and management for resolution in case of aliquot need or rejection.
- Ensure high-standard evaluation and approval of batches to meet customer requirements and OFA approval RFT or as defined by quality.
- Collaborate with the quality team for second verification approvals and lead adjustment, aliquot processes for rejected batches.
- Verify the condition of batches with the compounder at any stage during the manufacturing phases.
- Review upcoming production schedules and build action plans for adjustments, color cuts, and problematic formulas to anticipate and mitigate issues.
- Review and provide color cut instructions for all batches produced in liquid and powder manufacturing.
- Complete and comply with all training provided by supporting departments or manager to ensure competency and adherence to standards.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and batch record documentation requirements at all times.
- Document all results and adjustments in the respective batch card and COA in accordance with OTC/GMP requirements.
- Coordinate any NCR or rejection cases directly with the manufacturing manager and IC lab following gazebo process.
- Perform all other duties as defined by management team.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma required and 5 years of relatable experience
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing industry (Cosmetics or Food) with Bachelors Degree or;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience manufacturing industry (Cosmetics or Food with High School Diploma
- Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
