TITLE: Chrous Director
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Building Principal, the Chorus Director is responsible for overseeing one winter and one spring evening concerts and assisting students in the choral program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Holds supplemental after school rehearsals weekly before performances, including dress rehearsal.
Hires and rehearses with professional accompanists for concerts.
Performs at OHS Graduation.
Prepares students for CDMMEA Sr. district chorus auditions, participation for those accepted, and chaperoning (4 event dates required).
Prepares eligible students for MMEA All-State Chorus auditions, participation, and chaperoning (4 event dates required).
Performs in special performance options: music department trip, adjudicated music festival, collaborative concerts, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Current member of the Oxford Education Association.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom.
