Summary
Reports to: Director of Food Service
Hours: 7.5 daily
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Nottingham location. The ideal candidate will ensure that all food service activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and support to enhance team efficiency.
- Assist in menu planning and food preparation, ensuring that all meals meet quality and nutritional standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement and maintain sanitation and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement policies and procedures for food service operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of food service areas to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare reports on food service operations, including staff performance, inventory, and budget management.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to promote a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or food service management certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in inventory management and cost control practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
