Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy.
- Conduct tryouts and select team members based on skill level, attitude, and potential for growth.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the baseball program, including practices, games, and team meetings.
- Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the overall athletic program at Penn's Grove Middle School.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with baseball coaching techniques and strategies.
- Maintain equipment and ensure that facilities are ready for practices and games.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with school policies.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the baseball season.
