About oWOW

oWOW is a vertically integrated organization (construction, architecture, manufacturing & development) that accelerates housing abundance by delivering high-quality homes up to 65% below market cost in months, not years. We’re currently scaling our operations across California, with a goal of breaking ground on 2,000 units by the end of 2026.

We are the team behind 1510 Webster, the tallest mass-timber tower (19 stories) on the West Coast: https://www.woodworks.org/wp-content/uploads/case_study_1510_webster_01.2024.pdf

Our next project is scheduled to begin in March, followed by another in May and October.

What You’ll Do

1. Month-End Close & General Ledger

  • Drive a tight 10-business-day close across multiple entities and SPVs.
  • Oversee journal entries, accruals, inter-company eliminations, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
  • Consolidate financials across entities and maintain our chart of accounts.
  • Manage fixed assets, construction-in-progress transfers, and depreciation schedules.

2. Lead Project & Job-Cost Accounting

  • Set up new projects with budgets and cost codes; track the full lifecycle from commitment through completion.
  • Ensure clean capitalization (soft vs. hard costs, interest cap, overhead allocation)
  • Prepare monthly lender draw packages with all required backup documentation.

3. Manage Cash & Treasury Operations

  • Oversee cash positioning, vendor payments, and banking operations
  • Monitor debt covenants and coordinate capital calls and distributions
  • Build and maintain monthly cash forecasts with department heads to drive smart treasury decisions.

4. Deliver Insights Through Reporting & Analytics

  • Create monthly budget-vs-actual reports, KPI dashboards, and executive summaries with clear narratives.
  • Prepare investor and lender reporting packages on schedule.
  • Support board materials when needed.

5. Systems, Controls, and Process Improvement

  • Administer accounting/ERP and job-cost systems; strengthen internal controls and documentation.
  • Drive automation (imports, integrations, checklists) and standardize SOPs (standard operating procedures).

6. Team Leadership

  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting staff; ensuring proper workload distribution and performance management.
