Outline of the role
To assist the Laser Machine Operators with loading and unloading parts and materials.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Selects, measures, assembles and sets machine tooling.
- Loads proper materials into machinery utilizing cranes when necessary.
- Cuts materials to the appropriate lengths and operates a hand grinder as needed.
- To pull materials as required.
- To check quality against job specifications and report any deviation.
- To review work in progress and report accordingly.
- Regular Attendance and Punctuality
- Other job duties as directed

- To comply with NPS health and safety requirements and policies.
- To achieve required quality standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
