Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented
QA Engineer Observability & API Testing
to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of APIs, microservices, and monitoring pipelines. The role involves validating application behavior using observability tools like
Datadog
, along with strong manual and API testing expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Test REST APIs using Postman / Swagger and validate requestresponse payloads
- Perform manual functional, regression, and integration testing
- Validate logs, metrics, traces, and alerts using Datadog
- Ensure correct monitoring, dashboards, and alert configurations
- Test system behavior during failures (latency, downtime, error spikes)
- Verify data flow across services and environments (Dev, QA, Staging)
- Collaborate with DevOps and backend teams to identify root causes
- Validate deployments and post-release monitoring
- Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and defect reports
- Support UAT and production monitoring validation
Required Skills
- 8 years of experience in Manual / API Testing
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI
- Experience working with Datadog (logs, metrics, APM, dashboards)
- Good understanding of microservices architecture
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment flows
- Basic understanding of DevOps, cloud, and monitoring concepts
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS / Azure monitoring
- Exposure to Kubernetes / Docker
- Basic SQL for backend validation
- Experience in production support or observability testing
