HBI Amerilab Technologies (Ourvita) is a growing and leading US manufacturer in the development, manufacturing, and packaging of effervescent tablets, and effervescent and non-effervescent powders in stick packs and sachets, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician I to join our team.
Schedule:
Friday to Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Receive full-time 40-hour pay and benefits while working just 36 hours!
- Training Schedule Requirement: To get started, you’ll need to be available for training during one of the following shifts: Monday to Thursday, 1st shift, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 2nd shift, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
As a Maintenance Technician I, you play a vital role in the company’s success by monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining all production and production support equipment. This could include equipment such as Presses, Cartoning, Tubing, Pouching, Stick machines, Wrappers, Labelers, and accessories. This is an entry level position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own 100% compliance to Amerilab Processes for assigned line:EHS regulations and best practices
- Redzone downtime tracking, activities, logs, chats, etc
- Centerlines, CIL’s, PM’s, OPL’s, Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Shop and work area 5S and cleanliness standards
- Perform all assigned PM’s and corrective Work Orders.
- Follow all aspects of the Maintenance Planning ProcessUse and help validate PM Job Plans
- Use Asset Essentials to create a Work Order
- Follow all aspects of the Parts ProcessUnderstand Storeroom Layout
- Parts Checkout process and expectations
- Using Asset Essentials (parts lookup, part requests etc.)
- Drive problem solving using RCA tools, accurate data, and sense of urgency.
- Support Line Focus Teams to include projects, activities, huddles and root cause initiatives.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain safe work practices.
- Assist in providing a friendly, positive work environment. Show respect for all other co-workers. Get along with all co-workers.
- Participate in Maintenance huddles in Redzone
- Backfill necessary operator positions during uncovered absences or when needed running through breaks.
- Effectively communicate and work well with other Amerilab employees across shifts.
- Actively work to take on more ownership of asset maintenance ownership through optimizing PM’s and involvement in FAT/SAT process as well as IQ/OQ.
- Drive sense of urgency by knowing all line downtime and escalating quickly.
- Provide input and feedback on department updates, status, changes, etc.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Safety Protocol:
- Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
- Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience / Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) year college or technical school graduate and one (3) years’ experience in a role supporting industrial manufacturing, or three (5) years related field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years’ experience working in a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment. Preferably dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals or food manufacturing.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Have good communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Display an ability to manage time and perform self-directed work.
- Ability to work with outside vendors to improve current processes or find future process improvements.
- Display capability to learn and understand electrical processes and design while troubleshooting equipment.
- Display capability to learn and understand mechanical processes and design while troubleshooting equipment.
- Display capability to learn and understand pneumatic processes and design while troubleshooting equipment.
- Be capable of using CMMS to document all work performed.
- Able to work cross functional as a team.
- Able to ask for help from other Technicians and leadership.
- Ability to read & decipher machine drawings and electrical (schematics).
- Problem-solving high-speed equipment to ensure production line runs efficiently.
- Ability to fabricate and modify parts.
- Ability to Weld, Mill, and use the Lathe.
- Understand PLC controller systems.
- Experience or ability to learn the following equipment and tools: Pallet Jack, Forklift, Calculator, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Computer, iPad.
