About the Role
You will join our dedicated Our Club team to provide essential support during our high-energy summer months. This role is responsible for working directly with youth in grades K-12 in accordance with Arkansas’ Minimum Licensing Standards. Working within a trauma-informed, two-generation framework, you will help provide an enriching and fun summer experience to youth who are facing homelessness.
What You’ll Do
- Provide quality supervision for youth, ages K-12th grade, using a strengths-based, positive youth development framework
- Develop fun activities in areas of STEAM, Health & Wellness, Youth Voice, Literacy, Life Skills, or other topics of interest to the youth
- Maintain a safe and organized environment by helping with end-of-day cleaning, daily meal and snack service, and upkeep of program spaces and supplies
- Collaborate with partners like ARKids Read, the Central Arkansas Library system, and other vendors for special programs
- Work closely with the Mental Health team to deliver social and emotional learning activities that explore identity, emotional intelligence, and empathy
- Assist in planning and executing weekly field trips in Central Arkansas
- Plan family engagement events to get parents involved in the summer program
- Connect youth and families to other Our House programs like case management, workforce support, or individual therapy
- Maintain important program documents, including youth sign-in/sign-out sheets, approved pick-up lists, and program announcements
- Conduct other duties as assigned to fulfill Our House’s mission

- Ability to work effectively with diverse staff, parents, and community members

- Some supervisory experience with youth and staff
- Ability to develop relationships with the youth and nurture them through behavior and family challenges
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- A background or college courses in education, social work, or psychology preferred
- At least 1 year of experience working with youth is preferred
- Ability to swim is preferred
- Obtain CPR / First Aid certification before start of summer program
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs
- Complete the Arkansas New Staff Orientation within one week of hire
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks, child and adult maltreatment registry checks, sex offender registry checks, and a pre-employment drug screen
