General Summary:
This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Provides overall general maintenance for agency property and facilities. This is a safety sensitive position when operating machinery or around patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs quality, general maintenance as assigned.
- Performs carpentry, dry wall work, general preparation and painting.
- Assists with HVAC service, repair and replacement.
- Monitors and services equipment.
- Assists in the operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
- Performs light electrical (wire switches and outlets, reset breakers) and light plumbing (fix leaks, unclog toilets/drains, minor repairs).
- Climbs ladders to perform tasks.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Basic understanding of calculation of figures
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a broad knowledge and experience in household and commercial maintenance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, lift over 50 pounds, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
