SUMMARY: To provide outdoor grounds maintenance and/or custodial duties for various locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all necessary outdoor work, including spring cleanup, leaf blower, hedge trimming, leaf raking, pruning, etc.
- Snow removal as needed. (Shoveling, salting, etc.)
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Report damaged equipment promptly to Supervisor or crew leader.
- Reports problems, complaints, or incidents promptly to the Supervisor or crew leader.
- Complete assigned task list for each specific assignment which may include:
-Checking all restrooms in assigned area
-Cleaning restrooms and re-supplying as necessary.
-Sweeping and mopping of all restroom floors.
-Cleaning facility windows.
-Dusting all desktops, cabinets, ledges, partitions, furniture etc.
-Cleaning floors as required, using floor signs and all appropriate safety procedures.
-Emptying waste receptacles and replacing liners as needed.
-Removal of all recycling material and placing in appropriate bins.
- Understands the team concept and acts as part of a quality performing unit.
- Follows all safety procedures in handling machinery.
- Inspect area for cleanliness and ensure no cleaning devices (chemical containers, equipment, rags, etc.) are left behind.
- Proper use of all equipment for maximum efficiency.
- Other duties assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: requires an IEP, GED or High School education or equivalent with experience in grounds maintenance procedures. Multiple background checks must be successfully completed.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and Material Data Sheets. Ability to write simple reports. Ability to speak effectively before customers or management of organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposed to noise, dust, heat, fumes, and other elements with several continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable.
