The Employment Services Specialist manages employment services for individuals with disabilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and funding requirements. This role involves developing and implementing employment plans, conducting assessments, job coaching and supervising a team of career employment specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management: Match job seekers to roles aligned with their skills and experience.
- Plan Development: Collaborate with planning teams to create or update individualized vocational plans in compliance with OPWDD and ACCES-VR.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily documentation, monthly progress summaries, and billing approvals.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor service delivery, ensure consistency, and track billable hours.
- Job Coaching: Provide initial and refresher coaching for individuals in new or existing roles.
- Compliance & Communication: Adhere to ACCES-VR requirements, attend quarterly meetings, and maintain ongoing communication with counselors.
- Community Engagement: Promote services through outreach to businesses and schools.
- Training & Development: Participate in agency training and maintain professional standards.
- Other Duties: Perform tasks as assigned by the Employment Services Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: Work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities; supervisory or program management experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, ability to interpret regulations, and maintain professional relationships.
- Technical: Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Therap system preferred.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs; frequent standing/sitting.
- Other Requirements: Valid NY driver’s license, reliable transportation, safe driving record, and successful background check.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with travel to offsite locations.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments (noise, dust, heat, fumes).
