Description
1. Greets students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner.
2. Monitors door and hall traffic during busy entry and exit times to ensure only appropriate students and staff are entering the building.
3. Ensures all visitors follow building security protocol and sign in procedures.
4. Supervises students and addresses behavior as necessary.
5. Maintains accurate records as required.
6. Tickets vehicles without a parking permit.
7. Communicates with administrators and school resource officer as needed.
8. Immediately alerts building administration and other appropriate parties regarding any concerns.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform tasks assisting clerical and administrative staff.
2. Perform other responsibilities set forth in the teacher assistant job description.

2. High School diploma.
3. Able to interact tactfully, effectively, and courteously with students, parents, staff, and others encountered on the job.
4. Able to follow written and verbal directions.
5. Strong desire to make an impact with students.
6. Able to staff the position for the scheduled work day.
7. Ability to use basic computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, email, and chat)
8. Knowledge of school safety and security protocols.
9. Demonstrates an understanding of equitable and culturally responsive practices.
10. Experience or educational background in security, loss prevention, and/or law enforcement preferred.
11. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
