Job Summary
The Para-Educator supports classroom teachers in delivering instruction and facilitating daily classroom activities to promote student learning and success. Under the direction of certificated staff, the Para-Educator works with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and provide targeted support, including assisting students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include presenting instructional materials, assisting with classroom management and student supervision, preparing instructional resources, and supporting assessment and recordkeeping activities. The Para-Educator helps maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment by monitoring student behavior, supporting student welfare, and assisting with personal care needs such as toileting when necessary. The position requires strong collaboration with teachers and staff, sound judgment in ensuring student safety, and strict adherence to confidentiality. Flexibility, patience, and a commitment to supporting diverse student needs are essential.
Requirements / Qualifications
Completed Edjoin application, HS diploma or GED; AA degree or higher or 48 units of higher education or passed a local exam that demonstrates knowledge of and ability to assist in reading, writing and math. 7.0 Hours/day - School Day Only 195 days/year To be considered for an interview, applicants must submit a complete application with all required documents.
