Job Summary
Las Plumas High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our collaborative 5-member Agriculture Department. This temporary position is anticipated to begin in mid-September and continue through early March. The selected candidate will provide instruction in Agriculture Chemistry and Agriculture Biology courses while supporting the continued success of our well-established agricultural education program. The ideal candidate will foster an engaging, hands-on learning environment that connects science concepts with agricultural applications and promotes student achievement. Responsibilities include lesson delivery, classroom management, maintaining student records and grades, and collaborating with department staff to ensure continuity of instruction during the teacher’s maternity leave. Support and guidance will be provided by both the teacher on leave and other department members to assist with a smooth transition and successful experience. Experience in agriculture education, biology, chemistry, and/or FFA activities is preferred, but not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with dedicated staff, motivated students, and a strong agricultural education program at Las Plumas High School in Oroville, California.
Requirements / Qualifications
30-day emergency credential or Single Subject Credential in Agriculture Experience in agriculture education, biology, chemistry, and/or FFA activities is preferred, but not required.
