What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Assistant - Orono Community Education position at Orono Public Schools?
- Join our team to assist teachers in enrichment classes and/or work at one of our sites as a recreation assistant.
- Support teachers in the classroom and assist in implementing daily lessons.
- Set up supplies and project set up/ take down on a daily basis.
- Guide students through projects and learning activities.
- Work as a team to lead outdoor activities and games on our playground and at local parks.
- Supervise students on field trips to local attractions.
- Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all students and their families.
- Maintain a clean and safe learning environment for students.
- Support Community Education leaders and programs on a daily basis.
- Fun, nurturing, energetic and caring.
- Organized and flexible.
- First-aid and/or CPR certification encouraged.
- Experience volunteering or working with school age children ages 5-12 appreciated.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members.
- Begin work shift on time and work scheduled hours.

Qualifications:
Salary Range: $12.84 - $16.00/hr.
This role will accrue Earned Sick and Safe Time alongside state guidelines of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
