Senior IT Auditor

Orion Solutions Group is seeking a contract to hire Senior IT Auditor who enjoys working in a highly independent, risk-based audit environment. Each audit begins with a fresh IT risk assessment, with scope, controls, and testing built from the ground up as risks evolve. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys creating something new with each project, takes strong professional pride in their work, and prefers thoughtful, non-checklist driven audits. The position requires one day per week onsite, with minimal travel limited to training conferences or occasional vendor site visits and excellent work life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead risk based IT audits, including planning, risk assessment, control evaluation, testing, and reporting.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to IT leadership and senior management.
• Support annual audit planning through risk assessments and audit universe input.
• Facilitate IT risk assessments, lessons learned sessions, and management action planning workshops.
• Maintain audit plans and prepare timely, accurate workpapers.
• Recommend improvements to audit methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Educate business and IT teams on IT controls and risk management practices.
• Provide guidance to junior audit staff and participate in cross functional initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Security, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
• Six years of relevant experience, including three years in IT audit or information security.
• Strong understanding of IT environments, risk management, and project management.
• Professional Certifications such as CPA, CISA, CFE, or CIA preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving, conflict resolution, time management, verbal and written skills are required.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software tools.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Ability to effectively interface with operating management at all levels.
• Willingness to travel to various locations within the state of Michigan.
