Global Tooling Audit Lead (Contract - 3 Months)

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to lead a global review of tooling governance, controls, and financial integrity across multiple sites. This engagement will evaluate the consistency and effectiveness of tooling accounting, tracking, and policy compliance throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global review of tooling operations across manufacturing sites.
• Review tooling accounting practices (capitalization, depreciation, valuation, and asset accuracy).
• Assess how tooling is tracked, moved, and physically controlled across locations.
• Evaluate consistency of tooling policies and processes across global sites.
• Test compliance with internal rules for tooling procurement, maintenance, repair, and disposal.
• Review handling of customer-owned and supplier-owned tooling, including ownership records and contracts.
• Validate tooling costs, change orders, and reimbursement/amortization accuracy.
• Assess approval processes for tooling purchases, rebuilds, and modifications.
• Review end-of-life tooling actions, including retirement, write-offs, and documentation.
• Identify gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen global tooling controls and consistency.
