- Protect patients, caregivers, visitors, buildings, equipment, and other St. Charles property.
- Respond to emergency codes and support de-escalation during behavioral-health and other high-stress incidents.
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, secure doors, entrances, and other security systems.
- Conduct patrols and inspect hospital areas for safety and security concerns.
- Support secure patient transportation under applicable Oregon requirements and St. Charles procedures.
- Perform security dispatch functions, coordinate officer movement, and complete incident and after-action reports.
- Support crowd control, threat assessment, parking enforcement, and emergency response.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain DPSST Armed/Unarmed Professional certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Oregon driver license and ability to meet St. Charles driving requirements.
- Ability to complete the organization’s initial 6–8 week new-officer training curriculum.
