Completion and passing score of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

A Day In The Life
- Read, understand and interpret contract documents for major and/or minor construction projects.
- Identify potential problems, propose potential solutions and work with others in their resolution.
- Ensure contract work is performed in accordance with the documents by monitoring safety procedures and methods, traffic control, the Pollution Control Plan, etc.
- Understand theories, principles, practices and methodologies of civil or transportation-related engineering.
- Compile data and statistics and apply engineering computations to design simple projects.
- Prepare written reports, utilize computer programs to analyze data and use advanced mathematics to solve engineering problems.
- Assist in performing detailed surveys and calculations using manual and electronic survey equipment, computers and complex software.
- Work is performed outdoors, with exposure to hazards of traffic and all weather conditions.
- Work long/flexible hours and weekends and travel from various project sites, meetings and occasional overnight stays are required.

- Knowledge of engineering practices, statistics, and mathematical techniques (geometry, algebra and trigonometry).
- Knowledge of engineering guidelines, theories, principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Skill in reading, understanding, and applying specific instructions found in technical manuals, specifications, contract plans and other guidelines.
- Proven experience in compiling data and statistics, applying engineering computations to design projects and clearly communicating the information.
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and supervisory personnel.
