Join our team as a Human Service Specialist 1, where you'll play a pivotal role in providing exceptional office support and creating a welcoming environment for our clients.
Summary Of Duties
As a Human Service Specialist 1, you will:
- Provide front desk assistance, answer phone calls, and guide clients to the right services.
- Provide support for business functions within the office, including scheduling appointments, distributing mail, handling case transfers, and managing emails.
- May include financial desk responsibilities such as issuing negotiables, issuing Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, and issuing checks.
- Review all applications, paperwork, and documentation submitted in person or electronically for completeness and accuracy.
- Document all interactions and records through the ONE and TRACS system.
- Provide support to branch staff in supporting the work and families using the case aid model.
- Create a welcoming environment for the public through various forms of communication.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring efficient lobby flow and customer service.
- Use various computer systems and databases to manage information for the agency and clients.
- Two years of experience either:
- Interviewing to obtain personal or technical information; or
- Substantial people contact.

Essential Attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
- Successful experience working at a front office or reception desk.
- Experience completing tasks, duties, projects, and obligations with deadlines, while producing high-quality results.
- Experience navigating online systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and search engines.
- Experience communicating decisions, rules, regulations, policies, or procedures (technical information) in a non-technical way to people of diverse backgrounds and situations.
- Duties for this role will be performed in an office setting.
- Occasional travel may be required to support work in the Lakeview office on an as needed basis.
- The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm PT.
- You may work with individuals experiencing trauma or crisis, some who may have difficulty managing their emotions.
- Quick decision-making may be necessary to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Substantial time will be spent stationary while operating a computer.
