We are looking for a self-driven, detail oriented and organized candidate to join our accounting team. In this unique position, you will have the opportunity to lead full charge accounting for a related party as well as support the accounting close process and accounting function for 30 locations across Oregon for OBRC. This is a great opportunity to learn the foundations of accounting in a team environment with a collaborative, mission-driven organization. This is an on-site position at our corporate headquarters located in Clackamas, Oregon.

Summary
The Staff Accountant I is an entry- to mid-level accounting professional responsible for supporting the organization’s day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Schedule and Details
- Business hours Monday - Friday. Usually 8 am - 4:30 pm.
- This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Assist with budget tracking, variance analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
- Assist with external audit requests by gathering documentation and supporting schedules.
- Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with up to 3 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities
- Proficiency and professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook and have an intermediate Excel skill level.
- Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
