Ordell Construction is looking for an experienced Commercial Service & Maintenance Foreman to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for independently managing commercial service calls and small construction projects while delivering the high level of quality and customer service our clients have come to expect.

Since 1959, Ordell Construction has been building and maintaining commercial facilities throughout Oregon. As a commercial General Contractor and authorized Varco Pruden (BlueScope) Builder, we take pride in building long-term relationships through quality workmanship, integrity, and dependable service.

If you enjoy solving problems, working directly with customers, managing projects from start to finish, and staying hands-on in the field, we'd love to talk with you.

What You'll Do

As the Commercial Service & Maintenance Foreman, you'll manage a variety of commercial service work and small construction projects. While this position does not have direct reports, you'll coordinate and lead assigned carpenters, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Ordell's standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee assigned carpenters, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Perform hands-on commercial carpentry, tenant improvements, repairs, and general building maintenance.
  • Meet with customers, evaluate field conditions, and develop practical solutions to meet project needs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Plan project logistics, order materials, coordinate schedules, and maintain project workflow.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate project status with customers and the office.
  • Represent Ordell Construction professionally while building strong relationships with customers.
  • Travel to project sites throughout Oregon as needed, including occasional overnight travel and off-hours work when required by project or customer needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Five or more years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial carpentry skills with experience performing repairs, tenant improvements, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience managing small commercial construction or service projects.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and assigned field personnel.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship, customer service, and job site safety.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel throughout Oregon, including occasional overnight travel.
