Since 1959, Ordell Construction has been building commercial projects throughout Oregon. As a commercial General Contractor and authorized Varco Pruden (BlueScope) Builder based in Eugene, we self-perform a variety of carpentry work while partnering with trusted subcontractors to deliver quality projects from the ground up.
What You'll Do
As a Commercial Carpenter, you'll work alongside experienced project teams to help deliver commercial construction projects safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on commercial construction projects.
- Measure, cut, shape, and install wood, metal, and other building materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Install framing, blocking, doors, trim, hardware, and other finish components.
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and building codes.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Work collaboratively with superintendents, subcontractors, and fellow team members.
- Help identify and solve field issues while maintaining project schedules.
What We're Looking For
- Solid commercial carpentry experience.
- Ability to read construction drawings and plans.
- Strong understanding of framing, finish carpentry, and general construction practices.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Most projects are local; however, candidates must be available for occasional out of town travel when required.
