Perform detailed bookkeeping, recording, and validation of accounts payable processes and other accounting assignments.
Position Responsibilities
- Process invoices via a 3-way match (Purchase Orders, Invoice, Packing Slip)
- Enter and verify correct general ledger account coding
- Work with vendors, employees, and the accounting team throughout the month to ensure 100% of the invoices for the assigned vendors/suppliers are posted by the last day of each month
- Respond to internal and external inquiries relating to payment status and supporting documentation
- Maintain invoice documentation and retention by sorting and prioritizing invoices for processing, scanning invoices, and coordinating with Record Retention to maintain original documentation
- Ensure the proper record of invoices related to inventory management
- Collaborate with vendors and purchasing or sales departments for necessary paperwork and approvals needed for processing
- Communicate with project and department managers regarding supplier invoice questions and discrepancies
- Maintaining credit card receipts and reconciling credit card activities to the monthly statement
- Process employees’ expense reports and process payments in a timely manner
- Assist with new vendor setup and maintenance
- Assist with special projects, administration, and general ledger reporting as needed
- Two to five years of Accounts Payable experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
- Strong time management ability
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of office practices and clerical/accounting procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Comfortable with creating and using Excel formulas
- Ability to learn accounting software to perform job duties
