Newbury Elementary School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth of young learners. Outdoor education and community based learning experiences are key components of our educational programming. Each week students take advantage of learning in our eleven acre forest school classroom.
Area farms invite our students to learn and explore throughout the school year. We are proud to incorporate Project Wild, Trout in the Classroom and onsite composting & gardening into our instructional experiences for students.Responsibilities: Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Vermont early learning standardsFoster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environmentSupport childrens social, emotional, language, and cognitive development through play-based and hands-on learningAssess student progress and maintain accurate recordsBuild strong partnerships with families through regular communicationCollaborate with school staff, support services, and administrators to meet student needsMaintain a safe and organized learning environmentIncorporate outdoor education into the Pre-Kindergarten experienceNew teachers can expect a mentor with weekly meetings for the first year and into the second year if needed. In addition to mentoring, outside consultants work with teachers on self designed support. Newbury is able to also offer in house coaching in both math, literacy and behavior management.

Its an ideal location for nature enthusiasts.Salary Range: The anticipated annual salary for this role is $46,738 $90,067, based on experience, level of education.
