Thetford Elementary School is seeking to a full-time custodian starting immediately. Position Summary: The Custodian is responsible for ensuring building(s) are kept in good order in a way that will provide a safe learning environment for students. Performance Responsibilities: -Cleans floors: vacuums, sweeps, dust mops, washes, strips, waxes, and buffs. -Washes and cleans windows, walls, chalkboards, trashcans, water fountains, and sinks.
- Dusts furniture, fixtures, wood work. -Installs and maintains bulletin boards and displays, and repairs boards, artwork, frames, and displays. -Provides set up and break down of cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium, or other spaces for special events. -Empties trash receptacles and picks up litter in and around buildings.
- Unloads materials from delivery trucks. -Cleans and stocks bathrooms and changes and cleans shower curtains, when appropriate. -Repairs/replaces ceiling tiles. -Cleans windows and cleans and repairs window coverings.
- Replaces light bulbs and changes clocks. -Moves furniture. -Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities, reporting known safety hazards in the school to the supervisor. - Available to support students and staff during evacuation drills and emergencies.Compensation: This position pays between $18.72 and $28.22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
