The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities¿ customers. The Water Division operates four regional water supply facilities, eight satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day as well as eight booster and storage & repump facilities.
Water Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Utilities Maintenance Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and actively engaging in the maintenance activities of the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System, preparing budget recommendations, and responding to emergency situations.
Job Description
General Functions:
This key position coordinates SCADA System maintenance activities through multiple parties, schedules work activities to maintain efficient system operation, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, coordinates activities of vendors and subcontractors, and responds to emergency situations to correct SCADA System/controls problems in a timely manner. Prepares budget recommendations, is responsible for meeting budget objectives and approves minor budget expenditures. Tasks performed involve highly complex technical work.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of the department manager or other designated supervisors.
Representative Duties/ Assignments
Graduation from high school or equivalent and five (5) years of Electrical maintenance experience in water, wastewater or other utility related experience.
Must possess and maintain a Florida driver¿s license.

Representative Duties/ Assignments
- Evaluate SCADA System maintenance activities to prioritize and schedule projects and work orders.
- Orders parts and schedules SCADA system/controls and electrical work.
- Troubleshoot and repair SCADA equipment as well as support industrial electricians across all water facilities, countywide.
- Coordinates with contractors to ensure receipt of materials is billed correctly.
- Monitors, schedules and approves work orders in Maximo, the County CMMS.
- Programs and troubleshoots HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) software.
- Configures Network equipment such as Industrial Fiber Network Switches.
- Configures automated reports and other software related to SCADA
- Writes detailed job procedures, action plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Acts as standby tech-support on a rotating schedule.
- Assist with programming and maintenance of equipment used in the SCADA system.
- Troubleshoot software problems with the SCADA system.
- Builds and analyses trends for troubleshooting operational issues.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Preferences
- Five (5) years of experience as a SCADA Technician and/or as a Journeyman licensed industrial electrician in a utility environment or similar experience in related industries.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems including Computer Networking and security, TCP/IP protocol, MODBUS, Fiber optics, PLC¿s, VFD¿s, instrumentation loops, Serial RS232/485 communications, VBA, C or similar computer programming language.
- Knowledge of Maximo, maintenance management work order systems, and MS Office type experience.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read plans, prints, and electrical diagrams.
