The Project Coordinator for Fire Rescue Logistics Division conducts special project assignments and provides administrative support to the assigned division. This is responsible administrative work assisting the Division Director. The incumbent conducts assignments to enhance and improve division operations. An employee in a position assigned to this classification performs research, analysis and evaluation of programs, projects and operational procedures. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor.
Job Description
General Functions:
This key position conducts special project assignments and provides administrative support to the assigned division. Responsible for providing administrative support to the Division Manager/Director and conducting assignments to enhance and improve division operations. Research, analysis, and evaluation of programs, projects, and operational procedures are performed as part of this classification.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of an assigned Supervisor or Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.
Representative Duties/Assignments:
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management or a closely related field. Three years of experience using HVAC building automation software and work order tracking software systems. In Lieu of the degree requirements, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
The employee will be required to perform mandatory emergency standby duty on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Preferences
Experience with computers and using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with using HVAC building automation software.
Experience with using work order tracking software systems.
Certifications in any of the following trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, fire sprinkler or door/gates.

- Maintains log of relevant activities.
- Assist the District Maintenance Supervisor and Project Manager in the management, scheduling, and supervision of technicians and on-call labor.
- Responsible for special projects management, which includes obtaining pricing, pricing comparisons, administrative paperwork, technical drawings, vendor contact, site visits, and prototype design.
- Coordinates and directs vendors.
- As directed, assists certified personnel in controlling access to the facility by staff and visitors.
- As directed by certified staff, will notify appropriate personnel in a crisis situation.
- At the supervisor's direction, may coordinate services with outside agencies, i.e., Emergency Operations, Facilities Management, etc.
- Participate in department on-call rotation.
- Performs other duties as required.
